About Lopez Woodworks

A Family Tradition, Handcrafted for Today

Our story

Lopez Woodworks began as a passion project rooted in family tradition. Our grandfather Frank—always working in his shop in his signature bowtie—taught us the value of making things with our hands rather than buying them. He sparked our love of wood, tools, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from building something meant to last.

What started as a weekend hobby has grown into a small, dedicated shop committed to timeless craftsmanship and everyday utility. Every board we make is handcrafted in small batches using cherry, maple, and walnut—carefully selected for their natural beauty, durability, and warmth. Our end-grain construction is a time-tested approach that protects knives and ensures a board that will serve your home for generations.

We take pride in doing everything the intentional, slow way: selecting each board by hand, matching grain with care, and finishing every surface with all-natural tung oil and food-safe wax. The result is a piece that’s not only functional, but also deeply personal—a piece that carries a story into your home.

Whether it’s a custom design or one of our made-to-order boards, every item we craft reflects patience, precision, and a genuine love of the work.

A man with glasses and a bow tie in a workshop appears to be working with a piece of paper or a blueprint near a machine labeled 'Delta'.

Our Promise

We believe in creating heirloom-quality cutting boards that you’ll enjoy using, displaying, and passing down. Each board is built with the same care and intention that inspired its very first maker - our grandfather, Frank.

From our hands to your home, thank you for supporting small-batch craftsmanship.
